Candidates are selected from their participation in the Green Belt Program. The Black Belt Training begins with trained Green Belts and provides an additional two weeks of training on advanced tools. While all phases of the DMAIC process are completely covered, the participant's technical problem-solving skills are expanded with more diverse tools and applications. Participants are required to complete a major project while successfully completing the classroom segment of the training to become certified as a Black Belt. Coaching is also provided outside of classroom instruction. Green Belt Certification is required, and class size ranges from 8-15 participants.
